Or if he must see them go, one after one, he will scarcely feel a sense of loss, for having the Source of all things he has in One all satisfaction, all pleasure, all delight. Many ordinary treasures may be denied him, or if he is allowed to have them, the enjoyment of them will be so tempered that they will never be necessary to his happiness. “The man who has God for his treasure has all things in One. They mourned for Him, they prayed and wrestled and sought for Him day and night, in season and out, and when they had found Him the finding was all the sweeter for the long seeking” (15). – “Come near to the holy men and women of the past and you will soon feel the heat of their desire after God. Tozer, The Pursuit of God: The Human Thirst for the Divine (Camp Hill, PA: Wing Spread, 2007). So, with that said, I pray these quotes would encourage you in your pursuit in Christ. Also, it should be apparent that although I am quoting from this or that author, this does not mean I am in total agreement with all they believe or all they have ever said.
They are, as with any quote taken from a book, written within a context of an entire book. In quoting from different books, I am leaving it to you, as the reader, to be wise in your reading of these quotes. As I read different books and I am personally impacted with something an author has said, I like to make note of these and so provide some of them for you, to spur you on to a godly life in Christ Jesus. Part of my desire in creating this blog is to provide resources and ways to spur people on to godliness and holiness in all of life in Christ.
